All seminars are free of charge and are held on Saturday mornings at 10 am unless otherwise specified. Hands-on workshops are held periodically; a fee is charged for these since you’ll be taking the finished product home with you. To reserve your space in a workshop, call 636-7662.

August 21Rain Barrel Workshop. Presented at Rockledge Gardens by the Brevard County Department of Natural Resources and University of Florida IFAS. $45 covers all the supplies and instructions to make your own rain collection device. August 28Mango Madness, Part 2! A celebration of our favorite summer fruit, with seminar, mango and salsa sampling and sale, and recipe sharing. Bring in your favorite mango dish to share, and receive a $5 Rockledge Gardens gift certificate. Don’t forget to bring the recipe as well; we’ll make copies here. The three-part seminar covers site selection, variety overview, and care of young trees (at 10 am); care of mature trees, harvesting, and putting the trees to bed for the winter (at 11 am); and a Q&A session at noon—bring in your mango questions, and fruit and leaves for identification and problem-solving. September 11Getting Your Garden Ready. The fall vegetable season is upon us and it’s time to get your garden prepared. Find out how to select your site, prepare your soil, and decide which vegetables to grow for a great harvest.

September 18Little Bug Club. Our Rockledge Gardens kids club is just getting going. Each session will include an educational aspect and a garden-related project. $5 fee covers materials and an ice cream or beverage. Please call to reserve your child’s space. 636-7662

September 25Fall Citrus Care. Your citrus trees will provide better fruit production in the coming months with a little tender loving care right now. Learn about their nutritional needs and general care during the fall season.
